What happens when we stop trying to be “good” at creativity and start creating simply because we love it?
In this episode of Wandering Wild, I sit down with Kevin, a concept artist and lifelong creative, to talk about creativity, imagination, curiosity, and what it means to stay connected to that part of ourselves as we grow up.
We talk about the pressure to create something impressive, why creativity doesn’t have to produce a perfect end product, finding inspiration through references and observation, making time to create in a world full of screens and distractions, and why sometimes the best thing you can do is simply draw one line and see what happens.
We also dive into childhood imagination, nature, fire, problem-solving, video games, chess, following ideas before they disappear, and the importance of creating for yourself rather than for other people’s approval.
Most importantly, Kevin shares a simple reminder: everyone is creative, everyone has something to say, and you don’t have to know exactly where your creativity is going before you start.
So if you’ve ever thought, “I’m not creative,” this conversation is for you.
Keep the flame burning. 🔥
